Application to the Undergraduate Research Program (2022 – 2023)


This is a form to apply to become an undergraduate research student at the Center for Dental Biomaterials Laboratories. After filling this form, your information will be directed to our administration, and you will be participating in the selection process.

The first phase consists of a screening phase where the most suitable candidates will be selected to participate in an in-person interview.

The program will start on June 1st, 2022, and will end on May 31st, 2023.

In this program, you will be assigned to a mentor that it will provide you research instruction and support. The mentor will assign you to participate in an existing project where your mentor will determine your research responsibilities. You also might have some research activities that will involve lectures, reading and writing scientific papers. After your admission, you must comply with UF Environmental Health and Safety Guidelines. UF requires staff, students and faculty to take safety training relevant to their function. You may be required to take additional training based on the hazards and activities in your work area.

After approval, you are going to receive:
– Keys/Fobs to enter the laboratories
– Access to a shared calendar for each room and equipment
– Access to the Center for Dental Biomaterials Microsoft Teams communication and management platform

There is no salary support for the student enrolled in this project. The Center for Dental Biomaterials is affiliated to Office of Research in the College of Dentistry and the Center for Undergraduate Research at the University of Florida. You will have all the support from these institutions during your research program experience.

By completing this program, you will receive a certificate of research project completion from the center for dental biomaterials.
